THE
CILIP EAST OF ENGLAND SMALL GRANTS FUND
We are please to
announce that the CILIP East of England Small Grants Fund,
is now open for bids in 2006. We set up this Fund in 2004
in response to requests for grants received from groups and
individuals. This money is actually your money, received through
your subscriptions and we would like to get it working for
you! We would like to promote the fact that the moneys set
aside (£3000 in the year 2006) can be applied for in
a fair and transparent way, hence the creation of this Fund.
The Fund is available
to organisations within or related to library and information
services (LIS) in the area of the CILIP East of England branch,
or individuals who are members of CILIP. The aim is to provide
opportunities to individuals or groups wishing to carry out
activities of benefit to themselves, their organisation and/or
members of the East of England branch of CILIP. The sort of
applications we are prepared to consider could include the
following:
· Publicity and marketing for an event
· Assistance for attendance at a conference
· Fees/travelling expenses for speakers on a course
· Hiring/buying equipment
· Assistance with producing/enhancing a website
· Research to forward a LIS related project
· External consultancy fees
· Aid in production of a publication.
